We pride ourselves on a happy, fun, and positive pageant system dedicated to wholesome competition with lots of laughs and good sportsmanship.
General Rules:
This is a SCHOLARSHIP style pageant, beginner or hobbyist friendly system, created and ran locally. We ask that everyone familiarize themselves with information provided on FAQ and Agreements Page.
General Dress guidelines:
Stones, sequins, and sparkle are allowed on all beauty attire. ZERO LOOSE GLITTER WILL BE ALLOWED ON STAGE OR AT VENUE. The cost of your dress does not matter as full glitz pageant dresses are not what WASP represents. Glitz dresses are allowed but the dress should not outshine the contestant. No flippers allowed. Hair pieces are allowed but must look natural, soft and not overdone. Tanning for older age groups is allowed but will not add or detract from scoring. Nails are allowed (age appropriate), Lashes Allowed (appropriate length), along with tasteful cosmetics.
Beauty Walk Rules:
Glitz routines/Modeling are not expected. We are looking for a Miss America/Miss USA Beauty Walk. Babies are allowed to wave and blow kisses. Older Girls may have their hands on their hips but custom beauty routines and glitz walks or modeling are not in line with WASP goals. Max Stage time is 60 – 90 seconds. Children 5 and Under will not be counted off if escorted off stage. Children greater than 5 will be deducted if escorted off stage. All entrants will walk to MC personalized introduction only and no custom music.
Age Guidelines
0 – 3 may only wear light powder, light blush, natural or a touch of mascara, clear lip gloss and no tanning allowed. Natural and Age appropriate hairstyles are encouraged. Any style of age appropriate dress is approved and pageant dresses are expected – variations include Formal Sunday Best, Flower girl, baby doll, cupcake, glitzy, or tea party dresses.
4-6 years – may wear light foundation, light mascara, blush and light colored lip gloss. Light tanning (not overdone). Natural and Age appropriate hairstyles but no wiglets or excessively overdone extensions. No flippers. Any style of age appropriate dress is approved and pageant dresses are expected – variations include Formal Sunday Best, Flower girl, baby doll, cupcake, glitzy, or tea party dresses.
7-15 – may wear light age appropriate make-up to enhance the contestants natural beauty, natural pretty and age appropriate hair styles, light to minimal tanning (not overdone). Any style of age appropriate dress is approved pageant dresses expected- variations are formal gowns, tea length dresses, glitzy, or ball gown.
16-24 – No limitation on make up or hair. Tanning optional but no additional points will be rewarded or deducted. All young ladies must wear appropriate dresses. Slits (may not exceed thigh high), Sleeveless, Halters, backless, and/or strapless dresses are allowed but points will be deducted for dresses deemed lewd by judges and must be appropriate for a family friendly event. Any style of age appropriate dress is approved and pageant dresses expected – variations for dresses include tea length to floor length prom dresses, ball gowns, glitzt, and formal gowns.
Ages 25+ – No limitation on make up or hair. Tanning optional but no additional points will be rewarded or deducted. Any style of dress is allowed but must be family friendly and points will be deducted for dresses deemed inappropriate for this occasion. Any style of age appropriate dress is approved and pageant dresses expected – variations for dress include tea length to floor length dresses, cocktail dresses, mother of the bride dresses, formal gowns, glitzy, Sunday Best Skirt Suits. Caplets, capes, shawls, or jackets may be worn if desired.
Photogenic Photo Rules
There will be a photogenic winner for each age group. 1 photo is included in the registration fee and additional photos can be added for 10$ each. Miss Photogenic will receive a crown and sash onstage. Miss Summer 2024 we are moving from photo copies to electronic photo judging. Photos must be current (within the past calendar year). Photos need to be a natural style photo. Professional natural edited photos are allowed but should not be overdone. To be judged, photos must be turned in 48 hours prior to pageant date.
Crowning
There will be 4 crowning ceremonies.
- Baby Crowning categories for ladies competing in 1st three Miss Categories.
- Girl Crowning categories for ladies competing in 2nd three Miss Categories.
- Lady Crowning categories for ladies competing in 3rd three Miss Categories
- Miss Crowning categories for ladies competing in 4th Miss Categories.
Everyone competing will receive a crown and name announcement as called to stage.
Emcees will announce all side awards of Best Dress, Best Hair, Prettiest Eyes, Prettiest Smile, Miss Personality, and Directors Choice. Followed by top 10, Alternates, and Winners per division
